Cole’s Kennel and Grooming began with an idea for a family home business and a name inspired by Nicole’s grandfather who always called her Cole, Colie, or Tollie all affectionate terms for his granddaughter Nicole.  Pop McBreen was a local barber so in his tradition Nicole decided she would cut hair too just not human hair but puppy hair.  Grandfather’s counters and a cabinet from his shop now decorate Cole’s so the tradition continues.

Her love for animals made the decision even easier.  After training with a widely respected grooming trainer Nicole outfitted her shop with modern equipment and started making puppies look and feel better.

The kennel is tended mostly by Cole’s dad Leo.  Leo acquired a lifetime of experience with animals at home, in the local woods and fields, on local farms, and at the local shelter that paved the way for the kennel venture.  Not only does Leo tend the kennel but he also cares for Nicole’s many chickens, ducks, turkeys, rabbits, and goats on their rural property.
